Residences of South Hills
Kushner Companies purchased the 1,050 unit Residences of South Hills in June of 2011. At the time, the property was in receivership and was heavily ridden with crime and vacancy. Physical occupancy was under 50%, with most of these vacant units in need of major repairs. The residents in occupancy largely did not pay rent. By instituting professional management and investing $10 million to build a new clubhouse & leasing center, renovating over 400 apartments, and upgrading every hallway, Kushner and its management arm Westminster, were able to turn around the property in three years. Today the property has great curb appeal and sits at over 95% occupancy.
